Es ist nicht weniger, als ein Zusammentreffen zweier Ikonen der modernen Musik: Mit Yeah Yeah Yeahs-Frontfrau Karen O und Kult-Producer Danger Mouse bündeln zwei echte Visionäre ihre Kreativ-Energien zu einem Album: Lux Prima erscheint am 15. März via BMG.
Mit Lux Prima veröffentlichen Karen O und Danger Mouse ihr erstes gemeinsames Album. Ursprünglich trafen sich beide erstmalig im Jahr 2007, um aus dem gegenseitigen Respekt für die Arbeit des jeweils anderen erste Kollaborationspläne zu schmieden. Leider ließ sich das Vorhaben damals aus beruflichen und privaten Gründen nicht realisieren. Während Karen O`s Schwangerschaft im Jahr 2015 traf man sich erneut, um konkrete Ideen auszutauschen. Nach der Geburt ihres Sohnes ging man schließlich gemeinsam ins Studio zwar ohne irgendwelche Soundvorstellungen, dafür jedoch mit einer handvoll musikalischer Referenzen: Der Anfang von Lux Prima.
Neben vier Alben mit ihrer Band Yeah Yeah Yeahs sowie dem Soloalbum Crush Songs war die Grammy-nominierte Musikerin Karen O an den Soundtracks von Where The Wild Things Are und Her beteiligt, für den sie ebenfalls für einen Oscar nominiert war. Grammy-Gewinner Danger Mouse hat sich mit seiner Arbeit für Gnarls Barkley, Broken Bells und Danger Doom sowie Adele, The Black Keys, die Gorillaz, ASAP Rocky und andere einen hervorragenden Namen geschaffen.

Karen O
Since her career began, Karen O has consistently proven herself to be among the most diverse, influential, and transformative artists in music. As frontwoman of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, she has inspired a generation and played an integral part in what is commonly regarded as a revival era in rock. She has collaborated with musicians THE FLAMING LIPS, SANTIGOLD, TRENT REZNOR, DAVID LYNCH, THE SWANS and has contributed multiple scores to critically acclaimed films. Amongst those were original compositions for 2009’s WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE and 2013’s HER (for which she received Grammy Nominations in the category of Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media, and nominations for an Oscar and Golden Globe). In 2014, she released her debut solo album, CRUSH SONGS. Most recently, KAREN O featured on composer DANIELE LUPPI’S album MILANO alongside collaborators PARQUET COURTS.
