Info for Les Chats Noirs

Based on an idea by Renato Gattone. An accordion, a manouche guitar and a double bass give the rhythm to the Les Chats Noirs’ first album, a band that mixes traditional atmospheres constantly looking for contamination and for the research of new musical horizons.

An album full of Parisian feeling, evoked by a sinuous voice that warms the contemporary taste, also underlined by a Fender Rhodes piano.

A narration weaving together music and poetry, moving from Baudelaire’s verses to the pop music of a century later.

Clara Simonoviez, vocals
Renato Gattone, double bass
Primiano Di Biase, accordion, Fender Rhodes
Augusto Creni, guitar
Special Guest:
Simone "Federicuccio" Talone, percussion

Les chats Noirs The band was born by an idea of Renato Gattone, a double bass player and band leader of several projects, a musician totally involved into jazz and manouche music. After several experiences in the jazz manouche with musicians such as Dorado Schmitt, Angelo De Barre, Stockelo Rosenberg and many others, he created Les Chats Noirs, a band made up by of an accordion, a manouche guitar, a double bass and a voice.

The new born band has already played many concerts in Italian jazz clubs and also in jazz festivals such as Formello Jazz, Sunset Jazz Festival, Village Celimontana, R.I.F. Roccascalegna in Festival, Diva's Jazz.

The band has recently published the first Les Chats Noirs album for the label Forward Music Italy.
