Info for There Will Be Blood (Music from the Motion Picture)
Fast ist diese moderne Streichermusik zu schade für bloße Filmmusik. Man kann ihr sehr gut auch ohne Paul Thomas Andersons Bilder lauschen. Die Entstehungsgeschichte dieser durchsichtigen, energetischen und klangvollen Orchestermusik ist eher untypisch. Der mit dem Score beauftragte Radiohead-Gitarrist Jonny Greenwood schmökerte im Drehbuch, sah sich lange Sequenzen des Films an und schrieb dann fast unabhängig vom Text einfach eine Menge Musik, meist ohne an spezielle Szenen zu denken. Aus dem so entstandenen Soundpool wählte Regisseur Anderson später Passendes aus. Realisiert wird die Partitur vom BBC Concert Orchestra unter Robert Ziegler, dem Emperor-Streichquartett sowie Caroline Dale (Cello) und Michael Dussek (Klavier) (kulturnews.de)
