After successful debut EP ‘Everlast’, two sold-out headline shows in London and 4 international headline and support tours, Matt Perriment returns with brand new ‘Memos’ EP, out via V2 Records. With support from BBC Introducing, Spotify editorial, and placement in various singer-songwriter charts, Perriment lives up to expectations with this new piece of work.

‘Memo’s’ first two singles ‘Oceans’ and ‘Promise’ introduced an expansion of Perriment’s signature sound. The soundscape is bigger, with haunting keys, textured strings, flavours of ambient electric guitar, and vocal delivery that strikes with undeniable sincerity. Perriment explains that the EP ‘is an open snapshot of the key moments of my life for the last two years, a collection of unique memos that helped me through the tribulations of love, loss, mental health and wanting to escape from London for a while.’ Produced by Katie Earl, ‘Memos’ captures atmosphere and emotion with sophistication and nuance.

Third single ‘Distance’ explores the distortion of memory that occurs in the temporal space between a past relationship and the present. The lyrics express the difficulty of coming to terms with the change in someone you used to know and having to negotiate your idealised vision of them with the new reality that’s facing you. Musically, the instrumental matches this melancholy sentiment with stirring strings and finger-picked guitars that move in unison with Perriment’s expressive vocal.

The EP’s closing track, ‘Masks’ is a tender account of realising a loved one is struggling on their own, behind the vision of themselves they actively portray to the world. With only a gentle guitar to accompany his stunning voice, Perriment is at his best in delivering genuinely affecting writing.

Matt Perriment
is a 24 year old singer songwriter based in London. Establishing himself on the South England festival scene, he began writing folk and indie inspired music seven years ago.

Known for mesmerising crowds across Europe and beyond, Matt Perriment’s subtle and genuine indie-folk radiates a calm you wouldn’t expect to come from the busy London city life.

On the back of two critically acclaimed EP releases and two sold out London headline shows, Matt Perriment alongside his keys player and string section return for some special intimate shows this Fall. Having sold out their European headline debut at Luxor Live, Arnhem, within just a few weeks it is clear Matt is taking the scene by storm.

2019 has so far seen Matt Perriment tour his sophomore EP 'Memos' (V2 Records) to over 14,000 people in 5 countries, harnessing over quarter of a million streams on Spotify alone, hitting 6 New Music Friday placements and charting in the singer-songwriter charts in 7 countries.

Matt recently opened for artists including Thomas Dybdahl, HAEVN and Nina June throughout the most renowned venues in the Netherlands, after previously touring across the Netherlands as well as Germany, Switzerland, Canada and New Zealand.
