"Clocking in at 20 minutes, C O N T R O L is quite an easy listen. It runs by relatively quickly, albeit with few surprises once you’ve got to grips with just what it is GUERRILLA WARFARE do. Of course, they’re hardly the first to mix hip-hop with hardcore, but the execution is hard to fault. Drummer and vocalist Garrett Hood says “C O N T R O L is meant as a two-part concept piece about exploring dualism within society and the human psyche. Truly though, these EPs have served me as a personal diary for learning more about myself and the world around me for the last several years.”

Guerrilla Warfare
Louisville Kentucky three-piece Guerrilla Warfare are the first band to be signed to Jason Aalon Butler’s recently-announced 333 Wreckords Crew and the very first release for the crew is a music video for GW’s single ‘NU.Wav’. The band bring a heavy hardcore-influenced vibe flavoured with an undeniable groove to the new crew and ‘NU.Wav’ was one of the first times they tried to capture that particular sound. On double duty, vocalist and drummer Garrett Hood explains “We took influence from current rap artists like Tee Grizzley and tried to tie in some old school Beastie Boys style to the flavor to the vocals. Instrumentally, we have always loved Nu Metal and Hardcore both, and we think those influences speak for themselves.

Of the 333 Wreckords partnership, Hood says “To have somebody like Jason who I’ve literally idolized for years, in terms of being a performer, songwriter, activist and overall human being, involved with GW is a literal dream come true for me personally and for all of us. We feel that he & 333 Wreckords Crew understand and support the bridge of cultures and sounds we are trying to create in our music and we could not be happier to work together to watch our vision come into fruition.”

As for Jason, the very first time he heard Guerrilla Warfare, he knew he wanted to work with them: “I believe that when things speak to you that quickly simply due to the irrefutable energy they convey, you have to act on that. So that’s what I did.”
