Info zu Power Of Love (Remastered)

R&B crooner Luther Vandross released a breakthrough album for himself in 1991 called "Power Of Love". Filled with songs like "I Want the Night to Stay," "I Can Tell You That," and "Emotional Love," "Power Of Love" is truly one of those can't-put-down albums. One gets to hear the full range of Luther's craft, from the songs he belts out to those that he softly whispers in your ear. Other standouts include "She Doesn't Mind," "I'm Gonna Start Today," and "I Who Have Nothing," the last of which features a guest vocal appearance from Martha Wash. "Power Of Love" is filled with all the emotion and harmony that fans have come to love in Luther's music.

The following year, the album earned Vandross two American Music Awards for "Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist" and "Favorite Soul/R&B Album" and one Grammy Award for "Best R&B Vocal Performance, Male", and the track "Power of Love/Love Power" won in the "Best R&B Song" category. It reached Billboard 200 at #7, while topping the Top R&B Albums chart for five nonconsecutive weeks. On the latter chart, it was the last #1 R&B Album for twelve years until Dance With My Father was released. Power of Love was later certified double platinum Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

"...extraordinary rich voice...[Vandross has] sustained and continually refreshed his own self-styled pop-soul genre..." (Rolling Stone)

"...Mammoth and grossly luxurious, the album creates a pillow-filled musical love room to be explored, at a listener's leisure...Vandross is pop's greatest man of romance..." (New York Times)
