Dejan Terzic & Melanoia

Biographie Dejan Terzic & Melanoia

Déja is an italian duo, formed by Serena Finatti (voice) and Andrea Varnier (guitar). Before the arrival of Andrea Varnier (in 2005), Déja was a project counting six members. However, after a couple of gigs performed only by Serena and Andrea, given the positive feedback from the audience, they decided to go on as a duo.

Voice and acoustic guitar. The original and iridescent music of Serena Finatti, with the elegant and polyphonic accompaniment of Andrea Varnier’s acoustic guitar. Two artists that have been looking for each other for a long time, and whose encounter gave life to an urgent, exclusive collaboration. Diverse and mixed forming studies live together and still are recognizable in this project, a whole fund of experiences to completely serve the Music, which comes out rich, fresh and alive. They began playing together in 2006, and started recording their first album at the end of that year. The record, titled “Distratti dal vento”, was put out in the April of 2007, distributed by the independent website and label fingerpicking.net. After that they made many concerts in Italy, to promote the cd, and they had warm and enthusiastic responses everywhere.

They started to watch outside of Italy, to expand their audience and popularity, so in 2009 they decided to compete in the “Singer Songwriter Contest” at the Open Strings Festival, held by Peter Finger and Acoustic Music in Osnabruck.

They won the first prize, and so at the end of 2010 they released their first record produced by Peter Finger, titled “Laila”, which features 11 new songs, and was recorded by Sándor Szabó.

Besides music, they're committed in promoting a sustainable lifestyle: animal rights, food and clothes (they're vegan), recycling, human and workers rights, pollution and exploitation of natural resources.
