Airbourne
Airbourne
is the Australian hard rock band which answers the question “Does the world need a brand new AC/DC?” The answer is “Yes,” at least if you want to relive the late-1970s excitement of discovering Bon Scott’s blistering vocals over songs written to drive fast cars to. Their line-up is Joel O’Keeffe (lead vocals, lead guitar), Matt “Harri” Harrison (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Justin Street (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Ryan O’Keeffe (drums, percussion).

Airbourne has released four studio albums to date, “Runnin’ Wild” (2007), “No Guts. No Glory.” (2010), “Black Dog Barking” (2013), and “Breakin’ Outta Hell” (2016), all of which have seen top-40 charts around the world. They’ve also won awards including a Classic Rock Roll of Honour Award, a Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award, and a SleazeRoxx.com Award, plus been nominated for two ARIA Awards. Can they keep doing this? Yes they can!

The scrappy upstarts from Warrnambool – a country town about 3 hours from Melbourne, announced their arrival with 2007’s Runnin’ Wild, one of the most talked-about and best-reviewed debuts in recent hard rock history. Metal Hammer handed them a Golden Gods Award for Best Debut Album and Classic Rock rightly hailed them Best New Band. Airbourne further marked their territory with the jaw-dropping follow up No Guts. No Glory cracking the Top 40 in the UK, the Top 20 in Australia and Billboard’s Top 200. After unrelenting global touring that included co-headlining the legendary Wacken Festival and performing on the main stage at Download UK, the band released the critically acclaimed Black Dog Barking into the world. The album reached #5 in Germany, Top 20 across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand; and Top 30 in Canada and the U.K. Airbourne bring a sound that UK’s Metal Hammer suggests, “takes seconds to memorise and a lifetime to shake off.”
