‘Forgive Us is inspired by Deaf Republic by Ilya Kaminsky as well as the work I had done with Syrian and Iraqi refugees, in particular one woman whose whole family had been murdered by ISIS. It tries to depict tragedy, destruction and isolation whilst also touching on the celebration of survival and the undeniable guilt that comes with it.’
