Info for Melismetiq Live

Led by swiss drummer and composer, Arthur Hnatek, Melismetiq releases their first self-titled album since its creation in 2010 in New York. As a member of Tigran Hamasyan's Trio, the Erik Truffaz Quartet or Dhafer Youssef band just to name a few, Arthur has been touring the world since 2013. Now based in Berlin, the drummer has been reconnecting with his swiss home performing with Florian Favre Trio, leading the DKSJ project reuniting all the jazz schools across the country or even playing on the soundtrack of “Ma vie de Courgette” composed by Sophie Hunger.

The quartet's improvisations and lyrical uplifting compositions mesh themselves into a beautiful, lush and soothing musical experience.

Melismetiq; a heart-felt celebration to stillness.

After their last successful tour, Melismetiq returns this year with the irresistible urge to let a moment of music guide them through improvisation.

Behind this enigmatic sinusoidal name, stands some of the well-kept gems of the international jazz scene. But, in a rare act to remove the names, they emphasize the collective spirit that drives this project.

Arthur Hnatek, drums, electronics
Ari Bragi Kárason, trumpet, flugelhorn
Shai Maestro, piano, Fender Rhodes
Rick Rosato, upright bass
