Info for Vol.1

Between rock and psychedelia, Vol. 1 of the musical project of Vicente García-Huidobro (Akineton Retard), was released in December 2010, and it found its creative inspiration in both sound and concept with the Borges and Bioy Casares’ detective novels titled “The Seventh Circle”, that were created in the 1940s. So, Crocodiles with Martini becomes a sort of soundtrack of a police thriller.

Cocodrilos con Martini worked on the music for three years before the release of Vol. 1., the first and still unique album from the band. A type of psychedelic rock that does not disdain the Latin ballad, reggae or old television soundtracks, and progresses without fear towards awkward adjective rare music. Its members are defined as 'individuals who are not afraid to be branded as eccentric and living with the constant feeling of having too much to lose.'

García-Huidobro, vocals, guitar
Rodrigo de Petris, piano, saxophone, vocals
Marcelo Bravo, keyboards
Alejandro Fuentes, bass
Christian Bidart, drums, vocals

Cocodrilos con Martini
Leaving some of their experimental side, some members of Akinetón Retard had a go with an alternative project: Crocodiles with Martini. There they exploit pop versatility and elegance, with rock and Latin influences. They debuted in 2010 with their first album Vol 1., with songs that deal with the bohemian side of Santiago. This topic was completed with Andrés Rodríguez’ animated series illustrations.
