Info for Origins, Works for Solo Violin

"Origins" takes us into the fascinating and unique sound worlds of four current composers such as Jorge Muñiz, Francisco Coll, Dario Marianelli and Eugène Ysaÿe. Their works, all written for the violin, contribute to enlarge the repertoire of this great instrument. Through the music of these composers, the Spanish violinist Lucía Veintimilla has wanted to make a small autobiographical-musical journey through those places that have been crucial in her personal and musical development.

Lucía Veintimilla, born in La Mancha, began to play the violin at the age of four and a few years later she moved to England where she completed her higher degree and master's degree with the highest qualifications at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She is recognized for her versatility in performing concerts as a recitalist, chamber musician and soloist. She has performed in the main concert halls of Europe and Asia and is regularly invited to participate in music festivals around the world. Her performances have been broadcasted on Radio Nacional de España, BBC Radio 3 in England and Spanish Television, among others. In addition, she has been selected to be part of "Art on the move", a book that portrays fifty of the best Spanish artists based in London.
