Info for Mon plus beau Noël

"Mon plus beau Noël" has been recorded with the prestigious Prague Symphonic Ensemble and the children's choir of the Maîtrise Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens de Bulle.

It features timeless French Christmas melodies – such as “Douce Nuit”, “Les Anges dans nos Campagnes”, and “Mon Beau Sapin” – rearranged and re-orchestrated in exceptional symphonic versions.

The composers and arrangers Martin Batchelar, Samuel Pegg, Jérôme Kuhn, and Nathan Stornetta have given these marvellous works new depth and emotion.

Maitrise Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens de Bulle
The "Chœur St-Pierre-aux-Liens" of the parish of Bulle is a large liturgical vocal ensemble, comprising the liturgical choir, the concert group, as well as the choir school (Maîtrise), made up of about 40 children. The choir is mainly responsible for the musical animation of liturgies and festive masses at Christmas and Easter. At the same time, it presents various concerts a capella or with instrumental accompaniment. The choir expresses itself through a varied repertoire. It performs Gregorian chant, Renaissance compositions, and works from the classical, romantic and contemporary periods.

In association with various choirs of the region, the choir had the pleasure to perform Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in March 2009 as well as the main arias from Bizet's opera Carmen in March 2011, thanks to the Corps de Musique de la Ville de Bulle. In October 2012, the choir gave a concert performance of the Gloria and various pieces by Vivaldi. In 2013, the Choir participated in the anniversary concert of Lionel Chappuis' 20 years of conducting the Club des accordéonistes de la Ville de Bulle: the two groups performed the Polovstian Dances of Prince Igor, a piece composed by Alexander Borodin. In 2016, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the reconstruction of the church of Bulle, the choir performed, among others, Les Sept dernières paroles du Christ en Croix by César Franck.
