Info for La harpe á Paris

Paris - the city of many dreams and promises - has a special ring to the ears of harpists. In hardly any other place in the world was so much music played with the instrument, so many compositions were written for it and the harp was so popular. It is not for nothing that all the great works for harp and orchestra collected on this album were written in Paris - that is where she was at home.

Margit-Anna Süss is internationally active as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. Margit-Anna Süss was particularly influenced by her two-year studies with the legendary French harpist Pierre Jamet (1893-1991) in Paris, who worked with Maurice Ravel as a young man and personally worked on his works with Claude Debussy. Karl-Heinz Schütz is solo flutist with the Vienna Philharmonic. He studied with Eva Amsler at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory, with Aurèle Nicolet in Basel and with Philippe Bernold in France, where he graduated in 2000 from the Lyon Conservatory (CNSM de Lyon) with distinction.

For more than five decades, the Berliner Symphoniker have been an integral part of Berlin's musical and cultural life and enrich the German orchestra landscape.

Parallel to his career as an oboist, Hansjörg Schellenberger has been in demand worldwide as a conductor for many years. From 2012 to 2022 he was chief conductor of the Okayama Philharmonic Orchestra and is currently chief conductor of the Berliner Symphoniker. At the same time, Hansjörg Schellenberger gives guest conductorships with the Camerata Salzburg, the Spanish National Orchestra, the German Radio Philharmonic Saarbrücken-Kaiserslautern and other top-class orchestras. In May 2022, Hansjörg Schellenberger conducted the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra at his historic concert in Dubai. In 2018, Prof. Hansjörg Schellenberger was awarded the Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
