Info for Fabrics
The ensemble is run by the pianist Robin Skarin and the other members are Malin Wättring on saxophones, Donovan von Martens on double bass and Christian Jormin on drums. The album was recorded at the old factory in Gamlestan Gothenburg a weekend in 2017, as the musicians met for the first time in this particular constellation. All tunes written by Robin, having a pronounced nordic sound.
Robins intention was to not rehears that much, to get a certain
kind of nerve and presence. That force the musicians to have an
openness to the music and awareness towards what path the music takes. The result is a faceted record with distinct personalities, but also a strong presence and wish for community.
