Info for Cello Shadows (Special Edition 2022)

Laura Moinian
born into a family of musicians, gave her first piano concert at the age of six and has been playing the cello since the age of eight. Her reward is numerous national and international prizes. Laura was accepted as the youngest student of the Royal College of Music in London at the age of 16 and received the highest endowed scholarship of the colleges.

Back in Germany, she was one of only a few young cellists to be accepted into the "Tonalists" agency and recorded her first CD "Inside Out" with concert pianist and assistant to Lars Vogt, Jamie Bergin, at the age of 22. Last year alone she performed her chamber music at the Kronberg Festival, Trans-Siberian Art Festival as well as in halls of the Marrinsky Theatre St. Petersburg, Prinzregententheather Munich, and in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.

She also made her debut in a sold-out Laeiszhalle Hamburg with the Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1, and debuted as a soloist at the Fränkische Musiktage. Her 2nd CD "Cello Shadows" as soloist with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra was released on 1 March 2019. Alexander Vorontsov, piano Alexander Vorontsov attracts attention with his highly sensitive playing as well as with well thought-out interpretations; the music critic Barbara Kaiser described the 23-year-old as one of the "musically most intelligent piano players of his age group". As a soloist and chamber music partner, Alexander Vorontsov has many years of international concert experience. He has performed at festivals such as the Kissinger Sommer, "Spannungen" Heimbach, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the Lucerne Festival or the Trans-Siberian Art Festival. In addition, concert engagements have taken him to the Berlin Philharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Mariinsky Theatre St. Petersburg and numerous countries in Europe and Asia.
