Naoki Kita
After graduating from Kunitachi College of Music, Kita went to England to learn composition and arrangement. He studied under tango violinist Fernando Suarez Paz in Argentina and joined bandoneon player Ryota Komatsu on his South American concert tour. After that, he gained experience in tango, progressive rock, Arabian music, and free jazz. In recent years, he has been putting his focus on playing improvisational music and his own compositions, both in and outside of Japan. In addition, he has collaborated with Japanese traditional musicians, Korean traditional musicians, and contemporary dancers. He has also performed in Europe many times. He has played with Barre Phillips (contrabasss), Jean Laurent Sasportes (solo dancer of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch), Sebastian Gramms (contrabass), Rodger Turner (drums), Tristan Honsinger (cello) and so on.He has been garnering attention as one of the most radical violinists in Japan.
