Stanislav Soloviev, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra & Volker Hartung

Stanislav Solovyov
was born in Leningrad in 1979. In 2003 he graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (piano class of Alexander Sandler, chamber ensemble class of Natalia Arzumanova).

Has been a prize-winner at several competitions including the All-Russian Chamber Music Competition in Moscow (1994, 1st prize), the International Piano Duets Competition in St Petersburg (1995, 1st prize), the Concertino Praga competition (1996, 3rd prize), the Jāzeps Vītols International Piano Competition in Riga (2002, 1st prize) and the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Wrocław (2005, 1st prize).

Frequently tours throughout Russia and abroad. In April 2001 he made his debut as a soloist at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Has also performed in Latvia, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Serbia, France, Poland, Greece, South Korea, Finland, Spain and Israel. Has collaborated with the St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the St Petersburg State Capella, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra and the Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra among many others.

Teaches chamber ensemble class at the St Petersburg Conservatory and is a guest concert-master at the International Summer Academy for Young Artists in Marktoberdorf (Germany).

Has recorded a solo disc of works by Beethoven, Scriabin, Liszt and Prokofiev (2004).
