Ole Amund Gjersvik
is graduated at Bergen Musikkkonservatorium in Norway. He has studied with Bjørn Ianke (Norway), Mathias Weber (Germany), Knut Erik Sundquist (Norway) and Kåre Garnes (Norway). Had lessons with Marc Johnson (U.S.A.), Bjørn Kjellemyr (Norway) and Terje Venaas (Norway). Since the early 80s, Ole Amund has earned his living as a freelance doublebass player. Ole Amund Gjersvik has contributed on more than 50 cd recordings and released five well reviewed jazz albums in his own name. He has also contributed on cds together with musicians like Bob Mintzer (Yellowjackets - U.S.A.) and Mick Ronson (David Bowie - England) and worked with leading Norwegian jazz musicians like Dag Arnesen, Bendik (Steps Ahead), Ketil Bjørnstad, Olav Dale, Karl Seglem, Kenneth Sivertsen etc.

He has played in the house band in television shows like: Lollipop, Casablanca, God Morgen Norge, God ettermiddag Norge... together with musicians like: Neil Sedaka (U.S.A.), Gilbert O Sullivan (England), Christer Sjøgren (Sweeden), Sissel Kyrkjebø (Denmark /Norway), Rune Larsen (Norway), Tor Endresen (Norway) etc.

Ole Amund has played with leading Norwegian and foreign musicians in all kind of genres.
