The upcoming release of "Brothers In Arms", the new Sunstorm album, the second to feature new lead vocalist Ronnie Romero (Michael Schenker, Lords of Black). Romero’s debut album with Sunstorm, “Afterlife” was released in early 2021 and showcased a rejuvenation of Sunstorm's previous musical formula, mixing Melodic Rock/AOR with more '70s oriented hard rock, ala Rainbow (for which Romero performed as singer). That recipe is perfected on "Brothers In Arms" with new guitarist Luca Princiotta (Doro, Blaze) joining the lineup of Romero, bassist Nik Mazzucconi, drummer Michele Sanna, and keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio.

Prior to the writing and recording of 2021's "AfterLife", in discussions with producer and songwriter Alessandro Del Vecchio it was decided that moving the musical style of the next Sunstorm album to the more melodic AOR sound of the early records was what everyone wanted. Romero, with his powerful vocal style, was the ideal fit to deliver the goods for the music. "Afterlife", the then new Sunstorm album, caught many in the melodic rock fanbase by surprise as it, for obvious reasons, arrived with a lot of history and expectations. But for his first foray into melodic hard rock territory, Romero delivered outstanding results on “Afterlife” and you are in for a threat on this new album which offers elements of the more melodic sound of Rainbow and Deep Purple mixed with the sound of Foreigner and Classic Melodic Rock.

After the warm reception to "Afterlife", it was quickly decided that a follow-up was in order and thus in the latter half of 2021 and into early 2022, "Brothers In Arms" was crafted. For those who enjoyed the previous release, prepare for another sonic delight!

Joe Lynn Turner
Nach seinen ersten Erfahrungen in den Bands Filet of Soul und Ezra schloss sich Joe Lynn Turner 1977 der Formation Alben. Durch seine Arbeit bei Fandango wurde Ritchie Blackmore auf ihn aufmerksam, da dieser einen Leadsänger für seine Band Rainbow suchte. Da die bis dahin überwiegend aus Briten bestehende Band nun einen Amerikaner als Sänger hatte, versuchte man, auch auf dem US-amerikanischen Markt zu landen.

1984 wurde Rainbow von Blackmore auf Eis gelegt, um Deep Purple wieder auferstehen zu lassen. Turner arbeitete zunächst allein und brachte 1985 seine erste Solo-LP heraus, „Rescue You“. Er nahm eine Reihe von Alben auf und entwickelte sich dabei auch zu einem der gefragtesten Session-Musiker in der Branche.

Im Herbst 1986 versuchte der ehemalige Emerson,-Lake-&-Palmer- und Asia-Schlagzeuger Carl Palmer in New York City, eine neue Band zusammenzustellen. Als mögliche Mitmusiker hatte dieser Joe Lynn Turner, den ehemaligen Foreigner-Keyboarder Al Greenwood und den kalifornischen Sänger, Bassisten und Gitarristen Robert Berry mitgebracht. Doch die gemeinsamen Proben waren für alle Beteiligten unbefriedigend und eine Band kam nicht zustande.

1990 wirkte Turner dann bei Deep Purple bei der Einspielung des Albums „Slaves And Masters“ und auf der Tour mit. Auch das Nachfolgealbum war schon in Arbeit, jedoch gab es interne Dinge in der Band, auf Grund derer er wieder durch den vorherigen Sänger Ian Gillan ersetzt wurde und Deep Purple verließ. Er wandte sich nun Projekten wie Brazen Abbot und Mother's Army zu.

Seit 1997 erscheinen regelmäßig Solo-Alben von Turner, und seit 2002 gibt es das „Hughes-Turner Project“ gemeinsam mit Glenn Hughes. Bisher erschienen die beiden Studio-Alben „HTP“ und „HTP 2“ sowie das Live-Album „Live In Tokyo“. Ein schon seit 2004 geplantes drittes Album erschien bisher nicht. 2003 erschien ein weiteres Solo-Album von Turner mit dem schlichten Titel „JLT“. Im Jahr 2006 nahm er zusammen mit Blackmore und dessen Lebensgefährtin Candice Night für deren gemeinsames Projekt Blackmore’s Night eine neue Version des Rainbow-Hits Street of Dreams auf, diese ist auf der erweiterten Version des Albums The Village Lanterne zu hören.

Joe Lynn Turner war auch solo aktiv. Aus seiner Zeit bei Fandango, Rainbow, Brazen Abbot, Mothers Army, Deep Purple und anderen Projekten gingen einige Alben hervor.

Die folgende Diskographie besteht nicht auf Vollständigkeit, es gibt noch weitere Projekte bei denen Turner mit dabei war, wie etwa bei Nikolo Kotzev, Stuart Smith, Yngwie Malmsteen und Billy Joel.
