"FROM ASHES" marks the return of PALAVAS SURFERS to the Be Fast label, after a groundswell of activity sent some of the original surfers off on other adventures.

The combo led by Gil, from the planet Virga, and Laurent, long since "disconnected", met up with Manu, a drummer "close to Satan", Franck, a bassist "on the fringes", Fred, an "organist from the countryside" and Ed, a "charming singer".

The six musicians came together around a love of Fuzz, the real thing, the one that's played on one string and scratches your ear, and played a brand of punk rock tinged with 70s rock, psychedelia and garage, all with a whiff of rock'n'roll.

Within a few months, they were back on the club and festival circuit, playing alongside a host of top bands: Turbonegro, Slim Jim Phantom, Nashville Pussy, Super Suckers, Lords of Altamont, Les Meteors, Sanseverino, Washington Dead Cats, Les Sheriff, Guitar Wolf, Turbo AC's, Les Sales Majestés, Les Ramonas, Les Rats, Marky Ramone Blitzkrieg, Le Burning Heads, Ray Daytona & the Goo Goo Bombos, Raw Deal, The Saints, Les Vierges, The Dictators, Paul Fenech Surfing Dead. ..

So they decided to carve a few songs in wax to spread the word of rock'n'roll, thanks to the Be Fast label and its emblematic Phyl Taymor aka the Colonel. With their foot in the stirrup, the mechanical horses set off for the Las Vedas, DB Records and Cote de Prod studios, where 10 tracks will be released!
