Es klingt nach Jubel und bringt ihn auch: Hallyu heißt ein Phänomen, das schwer im Kommen ist. Gemeint ist die Popularität der koreanischen Kultur weltweit: Ob Film oder Mode, Boybands oder Ballett, Schminke oder Speise, die »koreanische Welle« erfasst es und trägt es aufs amerikanische und europäische Festland. Gleichauf mit dem K-Pop ist auch das K-Drama zum erfolgreichen Hype geworden. Mit Shades Of Love sind nun einige der bekanntesten K-Drama-Soundtracks eingespielt.
Zwei Kenner der koreanischen Kultur haben es verwirklicht: der deutsche Komponist Marco Hertenstein und der Schweizer Flötist Philipp Jundt. Hertenstein hat atemberaubende Orchesterfassungen geschrieben von 15 Titeln aus Serien wie Crash Landing On You, Moon Embracing The Sun, Mr. Sunshine und Reply 1988 und darüber hinaus zwei brandneue koreanisch inspirierte Stücke komponiert: Shades Of Love – Red und Shades Of Love – Blue.
