august park is the alias under which 21-year-old Troy McFarland creates. Blending elements of folk, pop, and electronica with an ever-present "bedroom" hyphenated in front, august park's style is nothing if not diverse. Originally releasing music under the name Cardnl, Troy McFarland’s recording catalog stretches back to his high school years. It wasn’t until summer 2019 that he began producing under the name august park, well after the new alias’s debut album, byenow, was in production. As august park, McFarland joined the internet-powered alternative pop music collective, ‘home remedy.’ Working exclusively online together from various parts of the world, they’d produce and release their own debut LP, Varsity, while the solo project byenow would be finished soon after.
