Die Maestra und ihr gefeiertes Barockorchester fügen ihrer hervorragenden AVIE-Diskografie, zu der auch Händels Dixit Dominus und Messiah gehören, ihre eigene Adaption des Oratoriums Israel in Egypt des Komponisten hinzu.

Dieses farbenprächtige Orchesterkonzert nimmt den Zuhörer mit auf eine biblische Reise von den Klagen der Israeliten über den Tod Josephs über die Frösche, Heuschrecken, Krankheiten und die Dunkelheit, die die Ägypter plagen, bis hin zu Moses' wundersamer Teilung des Roten Meeres. Apollo's Fire stellen das Album mit einer einmaligen Aufführung von Israel in Egypt am 21. Oktober in ihrer Heimatstadt Cleveland vor, bevor sie am 25. und 26. Oktober für eine Zusammenarbeit mit den New Yorker Philharmonikern in den Osten reisen. Neben Sorrell und Apollo's Fire wirken die Sopranistinnen Margaret Carpenter Haigh und Molly Netter, der Countertenor Daniel Moody, der Tenor Jacob Perry, der Bariton Edward Vogel und der Chor Apollo's Singers mit.
