Aus der reichen Musikszene des frühen 16. Jahrhunderts stammt ein Repertoire, das die pflanzliche Welt besingt, die den weiten geografischen Horizont umfasst, der sich von den grünen, blühenden Wiesen bis zu den Bergweiden erstreckt, auf denen Hirten und Hirtinnen spielerisch das Echo ihrer eigenen Stimmen zurücksenden. Anspielungen, Lautmalereien, Sprichwörter und Redensarten, Sprüche, Liebeskummer, Spiele und Tänze zu alten Melodien sprießen aus Zitaten von Rosen, Gärten, schattigen Wäldern, Zypressen, triumphierenden Lorbeeren, Ackerbohnen und Bohnen. Eine Musik, die mit einfachen Worten (in Vulgärsprache, der Sprache der italienischen Renaissance) die Phantasie und die Vorstellungskraft des Zuhörers anspricht und eine einheitliche Welt darstellt, in der alles (der Mensch, seine Gefühle und die Natur) miteinander verbunden sind. Diese ganz besondere Verflechtung von Kultur und Musik in der Renaissance wird vom Ensemble „Fortuna Reditus“ unter der Leitung von Roberto Cascio interpretiert, das mit diesem neuen Album seine Studien und die Wiederbelebung der alten italienischen Musik nach den zahlreichen vom Publikum und der Kritik hochgeschätzten Produktionen (Ippolito Ghezzi, TC650770; Falconieri, Coppola, TC640001; Bianchelli, TC660201; Pinxit, TC450002; usw.) fortsetzt.

Roberto Cascio
graduated in Lute at the Conservatory of Verona and the Royal College of London, is founder and director, in Bologna, of the Cappella Musicale di San Giacomo and of the theatre group Teatro Antico. Since 2015, he has been artistic director of the Microfestival di Musica Antica at the Cambonino Museum in Cremona.

He has numerous concerts and several recordings and publications to his credit. Among the latter is the complete works of Ippolito Ghezzi (Tactus), a 17th-century Augustinian, whose complete scores have also recently been published (Da Vinci Publishing).

Intermezzos, comedies, farces and sacred plays constitute the stage activity of the Cappella Musicale in collaboration with Teatro Antico.

From 2018 to 2021, he was one of the five members of the Executive Board of the Italian Lute Society.

In 2021, he received a letter of commendation from the Prior General of the Augustinian Order, Rome, for his work on the historical recovery of the music of the Augustinian fathers.
