It was when Delphine Constantin-Reznik took up the post as harpist in the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra that she first came across the name Anton Pratté, well-known in his lifetime as a harpist and composer. Her research into the music and activities of this forgotten master has now resulted in the very first recording of any of his numerous compositions for the harp. Anton Edvard Pratté was born in Bohemia into a family that ran a touring puppet theatre. He came to Sweden as an adolescent, and soon made a name for himself, performing music of his own as well as by others.

Pratté gave concerts across Sweden, as well as in Norway and Finland, and in the 1840s even went on an extensive tour of Europe, performing in Berlin (where members of the Prussian royal family were in the audience), Vienna and Prague. But much of his life was spent in the area around Norrköping where he taught the daughters of wealthy landowners and for a while conducted the local orchestra society – the forerunner of the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra heard in the Grand Concert which opens the present disc. This is followed by two works for solo harp, both making use of traditional tunes from Sweden and Norway respectively.

Praised by the media for her "remarkable sound”, her ”natural musicality”,”flawless technique and extraordinary virtuosity” (Norrköpings Tidningar), and by audiences and peers alike, the French harpist Delphine Constantin-Reznik has established herself worldwide as a passionate advocate of her instrument. In addition to performing a wide range of the standard repertoire, the critically-acclaimed harpist frequently moves away from the traditional route as she searches for hidden gems in the broader harp repertoire. She works closely with the leading living composers of our time, always seeking to position the harp within new constellations.

Constantin-Reznik performs regurlarly as a soloist in the major harp concertos as well as in newly- commissioned works with orchestras such as the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, Nordic Chamber Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Argovia Philharmonic, the Swedish Royal Navy Band, Minsk Chamber Orchestra, Kharkiv Philharmonic, Dalasinfonietta, Pori Sinfonietta (Finland) and many others.

She gives recitals and chamber music concerts in various prestigious festivals and concert venues worldwide, among others Wöerthersee Classics (Austria), Debussy´s house (France), Arpissima Salvi Bucharest (Romania), World Harp Congresses in Hong Kong and Cardiff, Swedish Royal Church, Båstad Chamber Music Festival and Old Ox Music Festival (Sweden), Palanga Music Festival (Lithuania), Fjord Cadenza and Asker Kammermusikk Festival (Norway), and frequently performs for the Swedish Royal Family, both at private and public venues.

Her chamber music partners include Roland Pöntinen (piano), Johan Dalene (violin), Catherine Michel (harp), Roman Reznik (bassoon), Laura Michelin (flute).

Her discography as a soloist and chamber musician includes recordings for BIS Records (released in 2021) and Naxos.

Constantin-Reznik´s passion for pursuing new repertoire for the harp has resulted in the unexpected discovery of the works of Romantic harp virtuoso and prolific composer Anton Edvard Pratté (1796-1875), who, coincidentally, lived in the very same region and town as herself: Norrköping, Eastern Sweden.

Her ongoing research surrounding Pratté´s works has recently led her to perform his harp concerto, chamber music and solo works - the first performances since the composer´s death.

To celebrate the revival of his music after so many years, Constantin-Reznik founded the International Pratté Harp Festival and Competition, Norrköping, for which she serves as Artistic Director. The festival was held for the first time in May 2019 and has been a great success both locally and internationally. A second edition of the Festival is planned between 15-20 January 2022, also in Norrköping.

Several composers have written concertos, sonatas and chamber music pieces for Constantin-Reznik, among them Andrea Tarrodi, Peter Nordahl (Sweden), Naji Hakim (France), Kjell Marcussen, Morten Gaathaug and Vidar Kristensen (Norway).

In 2008, Constantin-Reznik won the permanent Principal Harp position with one of the leading ensembles of Sweden: Norrköping Symphony Orchestra.

As guest principal harp she has collaborated with most of the leading Scandinavian orchestras, including the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Norwegian Opera, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Swedish Royal Opera, and Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Other collaborations in Europe as orchestra harpist include those with the Netherlands Philharmonic, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Zurich Opera Orchestra and Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester.

Constantin-Reznik was educated in the tradition of the french harp school, first in Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatory (France) and then at the Zurich Academy of the Arts, graduating with distinctions from both schools. Her teachers were Catherine Michel and Annie Fontaine. She has been also tremendously inspired by regular masterclasses with Xavier De Maistre and Isabelle Perrin.

During her studies, she received numerous prizes at national and international competitions in France, Switzerland and Germany,

Delphine Constantin-Reznik is passionate about transmitting her knowledge and experience to the younger generations. She gives frequent masterclasses in the Nordic countries, Romania, Ukraine, among others, and since 2018, she occupies the position of harp and chamber music teacher at the Lunnevad National Youth Music College (Sweden).
