"Girl On The Billboard" trifft schnell und hart. "Es ist ein alter Trucker-Song", sagt BRIAN über das Lied, das 1965 vom Country-Sänger Del Reeves populär gemacht wurde. "Zuerst bekam ich nicht den Sound, den ich wollte, bis ich meine Gretsch 1957 Duo Jet 6131 Firebird in die Hand nahm. Ich meine, der Sound ist monströs, dreckig und twangy."

Die "ROCKABILLY RIOT"-Tour, die seine ersten Live-Auftritte seit über vier Jahren markiert, beginnt am 27. September im Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, und umfasst Stationen in Nashville, TN (im historischen Ryman Auditorium), im Foxwoods Casino, Cincinnati, Chicago (Waukegan) und anderen, bevor sie in Minneapolis (seiner Wahlheimat) endet. Bei diesen Terminen wird SETZER von einer, wie er sagt, "internationalen Rockabilly-Band, Chris D'Rozario aus Melbourne, Australien und Juan Laurios aus Mexico City, Mexiko" begleitet. "Ich hatte eine ziemlich lange Pause, und die habe ich gebraucht", sagt BRIAN. "Ich bin erholt und möchte wieder live spielen. Ich möchte einfach mit dieser tollen kleinen dreiköpfigen Band auf Tour gehen und anfangen zu spielen."

Er fügt hinzu: "Ich denke, die Fans können immer erwarten, dass ich die Hits spielen werde. Ich möchte auch ein paar Sologitarren und kleine Dinge spielen, die ich mir selbst ausgedacht habe. Ich bin noch nie dazu gekommen, also wird es etwas Neues sein."

Seine Setliste wird "einige meiner Lieblingscover enthalten, die ich jetzt spiele. Ich habe es nicht aufgenommen, aber ich spiele sehr gerne meine Version von 'Georgia On My Mind'. Und dann möchte ich mit der Band einen neuen Song spielen, 'Girl On The Billboard', weil er eine lustige Geschichte erzählt."

Iconic guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and 3-time Grammy-award-winner BRIAN SETZER is a “Musician’s Musician” credited with continually taking chances with innovative and daring musical styles, while single-handedly resurrecting two forgotten genres of music (rockabilly in the ‘80’s and swing in the ’90’s). Along the way, he has scored chart-topping hits, sold 13 million records and received the Orville H. Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award throughout his decorated career as founder/leader of the Stray Cats, his 19-piece Brian Setzer Orchestra, and as a solo artist. He is consistently cited as one of the world’s greatest living guitarists, and has a best-selling, extensive line of elite Gretsch signature model guitars bearing his name. BRIAN appeared in the 1987 film, La Bamba, portraying rockabilly pioneer Eddie Cochran. In 2002, BRIAN earned the privilege of being one of the few musicians to be animated in an episode of “The Simpsons.” That same year, SETZER was personally requested to induct Chet Atkins into the 17th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. SETZER had the honor of being invited in 2006 to perform at the White House for the President of the United States. In 2014, SETZER received the distinct honor of being asked by the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. to donate a replica of his original 1959 Gretsch 6120 “Stray Cat” guitar, joining an elite collection of iconic treasures at the museum.
