Info for _In Between

With his second album “in between”, berlin-based composer Kerim König sounds out the intermediate worlds of acoustic and electronic music, of silence and spaces. An organic, sensual and intimate work that brought together pianist Mayuko Miyata, Oriel Quartett, Jörg Potratz (double bass), singer Teresa Bergman and Kerim König himself on electronics. The album will be released on march 30th 2018 via cologne based label Hey!blau Records.

Kerim König
gained first stage experiences with bands and ensembles as a drummer, singer and guitarist. He studied "Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practice" with a focus on music and media at the University of Hildesheim. Already during his studies he wrote his first soundtracks for short and animated films by the directors Lothar Herzog and Jan-Peter Meier. To deepen his knowledge he participated in the "Hollywood Music Workshop" under the direction of Conrad Pope in Baden near Vienna. Then König moved to Berlin and first commissions for television productions followed. From a long-standing cooperation with the composer Michael Dübe, film music for more than 100 episodes of the ZDF crime series "SOKO Wismar" was created.

On the Cologne label Hey!blau Records König releases solo albums that show other image-independent facets of his compositions. During the production of the albums he collaborated with the Japanese concert pianist Mayuko Miyata, the Oriel Quartet and the New Zealand singer Teresa Bergman.

Kerim König lives and works in Berlin.
