Info for Vera

Ever since their childhood, identical twin brothers Phil and Tim Hanseroth would sit in chairs across from one another with guitars in their hands and their knees practically touching. As they sang to each other, music filled what little empty space existed between them. In essence, their songwriting set the tempo for one shared heart in the middle. Even after earning three GRAMMYr Awards, attaining multiplatinum success, and performing countless sold out shows as Brandi Carlile's closest collaborators and bandmates, they still write this way. This kind of vulnerability underscores The Hanseroth Twins' full-length debut album, Vera [Elektra Records]. Stitching together a patchwork of Americana, folk, indie, and rock, the record is the sound of two brothers, best friends, and creative soulmates pondering life, love, loss, fatherhood, mental health, and what the future holds out loud.

Phil and Tim Hanseroth

Phil and Tim Hanseroth
each three-time Grammy Award-winning artists—best known for their work with longtime collaborator and bandmate, Brandi Carlile—have embarked on an exciting new journey.

Together, the identical twins, multi-instrumentalists, songwriters, producers, and collectors of misfit friends began sharing self-penned music under the name The Hanseroth Twins, with their debut single, "Remember Me," released on March 22nd.

With their roots firmly set in the Pacific Northwest, the duo first cut their teeth performing together in the early '90s Seattle music scene, fronting their rock band, The Fighting Machinists. Unburdened by any formal training or lessons, they grew the band in a DIY fashion, using any means to raise their profile, even chasing down Johnny Ramone in a Los Angeles parking lot for career advice. They eventually signed a deal with Interscope Records and recorded at Seattle’s famed London Bridge Studio, where they would be introduced by the legendary producer, Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Blind Melon) to Brandi Carlile, marking a musical partnership and friendship that has lasted decades.

In collaboration with Carlile, they have written and performed notable songs such as “The Joke,” “The Story” and “The Eye," and their work has also been covered by artists such as Adele, Dolly Parton, and The Avett Brothers. Additionally, they have had notable writing and production cuts on songs performed by The Highwomen, Zac Brown Band, The Secret Sisters and Tanya Tucker, as well the score for Tanya Tucker’s 2022 documentary, The Return of Tanya Tucker.

Known for their electrifying live performances, The Hanseroth Twins and Carlile have performed sold-out shows across the country, graced iconic stages such as NBC’s "Saturday Night Live" and the GRAMMYs, and backed up legendary artists such as Joni Mitchell and Kris Kristofferson.
