Info for The Heartland Consort (Remastered)
The trio from Mount Vernon/Iowa feels strongly obligated to the tradition of the Midwest. After having listened to the record many years ago, Pat Metheny called up the bass player Greg Groeper spontaneously and pleaded him to keep on developing the band’s style of music, an American music apart from Hillbilly, or Blue Grass, more like the guitarist Mitch Watkins from Texas.
Jim Kennedy, guitar
Greg Groeper, bass
Paul Cunliff, drums
Rob Messer, drums
