Following the critical success and Swedish-Grammy nomination of her album “Mirages by the Lake” (o-tone Music/Edel Kultur), renowned jazz singer and composer Josefine Lindstrand is set to release her much-anticipated fifth solo album, “For The Dreamers,” on September 27th, 2024.

“For The Dreamers” is a creative and playful journey through Lindstrand’s musical mind, featuring eight new songs that seamlessly blend her distinctive mix of jazz and dreamy pop. Recorded in the breathtaking Norwegian studio “Ocean Sounds,” situated right by the Atlantic Sea, the album captures the essence of the location, with the band performing amidst the ice-cold winds outside the window. Lindstrand’s light and airy voice, accompanied by her virtuous musicians, Jonas Östholm (piano), Gunnar Halle (trumpet & effects), Pär-Ola Landin (bass) und Fredrik Myhr (drums, pad & computer) and Marius Neset, the Norwegian saxophonist, who appears as a featuring guest on the third track of the album, invites listeners into a world where the crystal clarity of Scandinavian lakes and the dark mysticism of Swedish forests intertwine.

Josefine Lindstrand, based in Stockholm, has been a leading figure in the Scandinavian jazz scene for over 15 years. Celebrated for her exceptional talent, she has received numerous accolades, including “Best Jazz Artist in Sweden” and “Best Jazz Composer” by the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation, as well as a Danish Grammy. Beyond her solo work, Lindstrand composes for choir, big band, and film, and has been a key member of the British Django Bates band “Human Chain” for over a decade. She has also collaborated with acclaimed US pianist Uri Caine and the Metropole Orchestra.

Josefine Lindstrand
ist eine hochgelobte Jazzsängerin, Komponistin und Pianistin, die in Stockholm lebt und seit mehr als 15 Jahren zu den führenden Sängerinnen der Jazzszene in Skandinavien und Europa gehört. Mit zahlreichen Preisen wurde sie über die Jahre als „Best jazz artist in Sweden“, vom Schwedischen Rundfunk als „Beste Jazzkomponistin“ ausgezeichnet und erhielt einen dänischen Grammy! Über ihre eigene Musik hinaus, schreibt Josefine auch Auftragswerke für Chor, Big Band und Film. Seit über 10 Jahren ist sie die Sängerin in der britischen Django Bates Band „Human Chain“, und hat mit dem US-Pianisten Uri Caine, sowie dem Metropole Orchestra gespielt und aufgenommen.

Schon die erste Single „Up!“, die im November 2023 erschienen ist, ist eine abenteuerliche Reise durch den Kopf eines Träumers. All die langweiligen Alltagsspaziergänge durch endlose Straßen mit Häusern werden aufregend, wenn die Kreativität und Fantasie zum Vorschein kommt. Josefine beschreibt dies in ihrem Text und ihrer Musik und einem überraschenden Arrangement. Eine weitere ausgekoppelte Single „In my craft or sullen art“ feat. Marius Neset wurde in der Spotify Playlists Jazz Pop (mit 150.000 monatlichen Zuhörern) und der Song „Isagel“ in der Svensk Jazz (mit 30.000 monatlichen Zuhörern) gefeatured.

Josefines Band besteht aus hochkarätigen Musikern, die zur Elite der skandinavischen Szene gehören. Gemeinsam mit Josefine schaffen es Jonas Östholm, Gunnar Halle, Pär-Ola Landin und Fredrik Myhr, intime Klanglandschaften mit einer selten gehörten Tiefe zu erschaffen.
